Dave Brubeck with his son Chris Brubeck

My father, Dave Brubeck, is known throughout the world as a jazz legend, but beyond that, he was a terrific composer of major choral works which many people don’t realize. My parents were strong advocates for Civil Rights and human dignity, and their deep-seated conviction to make a difference in our society through music and text resulted in 18 concert-length major cantatas and oratorios for chorus, soloists, orchestra and improvising jazz quartet. My family and I are thrilled that this amazing collaboration of talents will be presenting excerpts from some of my parents’ works in the June 1st concert.
